"So why don't you announce your relationship?" Aang suggested softly before quickly adding as Zuko's golden eyes met his gray ones, "if you two want to, obviously, but isn't that tradition? To announce exciting things about the Fire Nation during the celebration?"
Zuko paused, trying to process what that would be like, to finally be out in the nation he had personally toiled away at for days and nights to ensure safety, to finally be rid of marriage offers and letters and watching as nobility nodded sadly when he had to reject them.
"It's not the worst idea." Sokka supplied softly, gently running his hand up Zuko's bicep.
Or: Sokka does drag, Zuko finally stops procrastinating on coming out to Iroh, and Toph still punches people in the arm, all with a week-long celebration as the backdrop.

Sokka comes to that painful realization the day he arrives back in the Fire Nation. No more playful flirts, no more carefree affection. He did indeed get the hint, but before Sokka deposited them into Zuko’s hand the other boy ATE IT OUT OF HIS HAND. And oh god, Zuko’s tongue had definitely touched his fingers, and if Sokka was blushing before he was combusting now. “Cool Cool, so hand-feeding is a thing you apparently do, I can roll with that, this is fine." Sokka rambled to no one because Zuko was definitely not listening.
