Hiccup can speak to dragons.
It shouldn’t surprise Fishlegs as much as it does, and at first, it kind of doesn’t. Everybody knows that Hiccup can deal with dragons better than anyone, that he always manages to form a special bond with them that nobody else can figure out. And he talks to them, endlessly chattering to Toothless like he expects an answer. On the whole, dragons do seem to understand, is the thing. Fishlegs talks to Meatlug, too, but he’s always been under the impression that dragons react to his tone more than anything. To his body language too, probably.
But then, Hiccup starts to speak dragon.

“We have to assume it’s not her,” Anakin said while Ahsoka made throwing up motions. “Besides, he implied it was a guy.”Or, Anakin (and Ahsoka) try to figure out who Obi-Wan is dating.
