Summary
I'm taking on the behemoth task of rewriting this whole series-- or parts of it, anyway. Between the character assassination of Jacob, the racism, and whatever the hell that whole baby plot was-- twilight is a mess. In some ways, its messiness is part of why I love it, but as a reader, I couldn't help but wonder if I'd enjoy it more if it were ever so slightly... well, okayer!
So, this is Twilight (New Moon) But Okayer! I borrowed the title from a really wonderful comic on tumblr, which you should check out when you're done with this! :)

A Twilight fix-it! :)
Bella has just moved in with her estranged father in Forks to attend University after finishing community college in Phoenix. There, she reconnects with a childhood friend who has just started his own auto shop, and, at school, meets an intriguing, golden-eyed family.
Largely canon-adherent. I just thought the plot of Twilight lended itself much better to a university setting. Also, nobody is allowed to be racist, Bella is canonically bisexual, and the female characters are treated with the respect they deserve.
Jacob doesn't go off the rails in Eclipse, either-- sweetie pie Jacob only in this house. <3Mostly, Edward and Bella talk about books

Perhaps the most significant of the changes between my canon and Smeyer’s in terms of plot take place here, in my Eclipse rewrite. *unless you count me writing renesmee out of BD
Among them (and without spoiling too much):
Jacob imprints, but not on a child,
There is a minor character death (ouch and RIP)
and Bree Tanner (who has gotten a bit of a makeover) becomes a major character.
