Summary
“Zosia, when I look at you I feel sick to my stomach.” That was not what Zosia was expecting to hear. From the look on her face, it was not what Carol had come in expecting to say either. She had stopped pacing. Zosia just gaped at her, front door still hanging open. “I didn’t mean it like that.”
Zosia shut the door and went to sit back down on the sofa. She looked up at Carol, and crossed her arms. “What could you have possibly meant it like?”
Carol sighed, and started pacing again.
“I used you. I hurt you, I drugged you, I blew you up, and I fucked you. I did all of those things knowing that you might still be in there, knowing that you couldn’t consent. I can’t sleep at night because every time I shut my eyes I think about every horrible thing I did to your body and now you’re back, you’re back because I wanted you to be back, I wanted it to be you, and now I can’t even look at you.” True to her word, Carol was staring up at the ceiling. The words poured out of her like sputum.
“To be fair, I killed your wife.”
“That’s not funny.”
“I’m not joking.”
---
Zosia had a brother, once.

Summary
"Do you not have a room in this place?"
Zosia smiles, like she's happy to even be talked to. "We go where we are wanted, Carol."
"Right."
"Would you like us to get a room of our own in this hotel?"
Carol shrugs. "I mean, that sounds better than hoping Koumba won't be relocating his next strip-poker night in your current bed, so... sure."
Zosia sways a little, hips first, hands clasped in front of her. The sash of her robe dances with her waist, and Carol’s hands twitch by her sides - imagine holding it like a leash, or weaving the silk under her flesh.
"Okay."
or,
Carol stays in Vegas. The hive sends Zosia back with a new strategy in mind: seducing her into forgetting her dead wife.

Summary
Two years after the Unjoining, she saw Zosia in London, of all places – nearly unrecognizable in her winter attire – bundled up to her nose. But Carol felt her presence like a sawed-off shotgun wound to her stomach. The sight of her eyes peeking over the edge of her scarf, sparkling with mirth as she shouldered the woman she was walking with –
Well, it was fucking devastating.
‘Who is Carol?’ Spray-painted in canary yellow, stood out against the rain-darkened concrete of the building across the street from The Ritz where Carol was staying.

Summary
Early on in their relationship, every kiss and press of skin against skin only made Will more modest in his approach to his own pleasure. Every time Mike pressed inside him, it was like peeling back layers and layers of trauma, leaving him utterly vulnerable. Will wasn’t sure who he really was outside of Hawkins, or who he should be for Mike, or what it meant to love and finally be loved. He had convinced himself he was never going to have what his friends had, what the rest of the world had.
But Mike didn’t care how deep the layers went. He wanted to unfold every truth inside of Will. He wanted to strip him down to the bone; peer inside him until he knew every nook and cranny of his being.

Summary
Will imagines throwing his arms around Mike’s shoulders as he cries yes, yes I’ll marry you! He imagines their wedding, how soft and romantic and perfect it would be. Afterwards, Mike would undress him slowly, press him into the mattress, and kiss away the tears that spring out of his eyes as he slides inside Will, deep and pulsing and everything Will needs. He thinks about calling Mike his husband, about their rings clanging together as Mike presses their hands together on the mattress while he fucks into Will. Will would moan and cry out for his husband until his throat became hoarse. He thinks about doing that every single night of their honeymoon. Every single night for the rest of their lives.
Mike starts telling everyone that he and Will are on their honeymoon, even though they're not actually married. Will promptly loses his mind over it.
