Summary
Buck’s breath sharpens. His chest heaves. His eyesight blurs. His hands clench at the injuries and his body twists and turns, unravelling on the floor and kicking out. His mind can’t focus anymore. He can’t hear Eddie; he can’t hear himself. Everything is a loud buzz and his vision is spinning so rapidly he feels as if he’s become the robot instead.
But there is something within that draws his attention and settles him. A low thud and a churning stomach; not a hunger pain or a wound, no. This is something new. Something different.

He reached his hand down to the one rested on Buck’s stomach. He pressed Eddie’s hand down further into Buck, relishing in the pressure it sent through his belly as he squeezed tightly. His head tilted up; dark, blown out pupils gazing at Eddie with severity and intensity. Eddie’s breath hitched.
Buck’s voice came out low, raspy, and eager. “I want to have your baby, Eddie.”

Eddie’s vision goes a little black at the edges, and his hearing dissolves into a shrill ringing.
Buck’s voice cuts through the noise. “Eddie?” he asks. “I- what- He wouldn’t-”
“He would,” Eddie says without thinking.
That pit in his stomach feels like it’s grown into a watermelon. They’re all going to think that he only wants to spend a heat with Buck because he’s an omega. Motes of light eddy and flow through the air, bigger orbs of light bouncing off each other and Maddie gently as she turns and turns in stunned silence. When she finally looks at him, tears track her cheeks, carving through the golden dust that now flecks her skin.His house has turned into a garden.
Roots tangle over the floor in tripping hazards, creeping and winding up walls and around furniture legs. Moss, mushrooms, and flowers carpet surfaces. Branches and vines reach across the room to embrace and curl around each other.
The air is thick with the perfume of blooms and ripened fruit.
His bed is mostly untouched but for the flowers and greenery beneath his cheek, where tears make a steady stream down his face.
"Buck," she chokes out, dashing the tears from her own cheeks, smearing the golden pollen across her face as she hurries over to him. She falls to her knees beside him and cups his cheeks, heedless of the delicate vines creeping over her fingers as she runs her thumbs under his eyes to wipe away tears. "What happened?" she asks.

Buck’s expression shifted before he could stop it. Pride first. Then something warmer underneath, something Eddie did not have the emotional bandwidth to inspect too closely.
“I know,” Buck said softly.
