Summary
He was a soldier in God's army. His purpose was to fight. He was trained to put that purpose above everything else, because divergence was a path to falling from grace. Answering your prayer was only meant to be a one-time act of kindness as a reward for your faith in the face of certain tragedy.
Answering your prayer was the divergence he'd been warned about since his creation.
Three years have passed and he's refused to leave your side. He told himself he was only protecting you, but denial is a river in Egypt- and that river has run dry. God has decided the earth's time is up, and He's commanded the angels to abandon it with him until He gives the orders to destroy it entirely. As the final day creeps closer, Castiel, one angel among the few who refused to give up on humanity with the rest, walks further down the path of divergence. His feelings for you are different-and much deeper-than a general love for humanity as a whole. A duty to protect unseen from the sidelines has morphed into a devotion that drives him to seek a human vessel. Speaking to you, holding you, confessing to you before Earth's time is up- risking the fall from grace, to him, is a chance worth taking for all of it.

Summary
Once in a blue moon, a Shinigami gifts a human with its eyes in utero. Even rarer is when the one gifted with the eyes is a twin. B was a once in a lifetime case, and through their shared placenta, his eyes affected his identical twin brother L, too: B could see your name and when you die, and L, through touch, could tell you how. Orphaned as children, fate lends them a hand. They're taken in by Quilish Wammy, who takes special interest in their otherworldly quirks, and raises them in his orphanage for gifted children.
Over time, their paths diverge. L becomes, well, L, the world's greatest detective. B chooses to stay behind as his backup, longing to find the origin of his eyes and the truth about where they came from before committing to solving cases. But much like the Death Note is bound to sour the soul of the human who uses it, those born with the eyes are damned to the same fate.

Summary
L brought a finger to his chin as if in thought. “And in those days men shall seek death, and shall not find it: and they shall desire to die, and death shall flee from them.”
Light raised an eyebrow. “You're quoting scripture right now? What’s your point?”
“My point is,” L said, “you will find it more relevant than you wish it to be before long.”

Summary
Mikami is a good devotee to the religion of Kira, the BEST, even, evidenced by the fact that he was chosen to enact justice on Kira's behalf. One day he slips up and writes names down before receiving orders to do so, assuming he already knows who Kira will want to judge next. Light is displeased, but he is also merciful, and doles out punishment: the pathway to giving his most loyal subject a chance at redemption.

“Dean, you - you’re going to become an angel. I have no idea what that means for you. I have no idea if you’ll even still”- Cas breaks off, throat working around something he can’t - or doesn’t want to - say.
“If I’ll still be me?” Dean finishes the sentence Cas so desperately didn’t want to give voice to.Despite everything, Dean's life as a human must come to an end. But that doesn't mean the end of this. It just means the start of something totally new.

Summary
Castiel’s babysitter cancels. Again. Which is how he ends up frantically hiring Deana—a highly rated sitter with years of experience and a history of helping raise her younger brother, Sam.
Castiel expects a woman. Dean Winchester, apparently, expects people to read profiles more carefully. The typo in the listing was never fixed.
Dean is qualified, of course. Responsible, even. Disturbingly good with children. Castiel’s eight-year-old adores him almost immediately.
He spends significantly longer trying not to. Because Dean has a habit of lingering in the kitchen after Claire falls asleep, fixing things around the house that were never his responsibility and looking unfairly comfortable in a life that doesn’t belong to him.
Or:
Castiel accidentally hires the wrong babysitter and watches, with increasing concern, as Dean Winchester slowly becomes part of everything.
