Two men, equally curious about the other, each empathizing a bit with the other's situation, and desperate to know more. Coworkers slowly learning how to grow past the shape the world has cut out for them, and finding solace in that. Summary
It’s 2008, and Robert Robertson III is trying to balance court-ordered community service, a disciplinarian father, and the suspicious honour of being Mechaman’s spawn. You know. Normal teen stuff. At a clean-up detail, he meets Sonar: a helmet-wearing hybrid with his own rap sheet and his own reasons for staying guarded. Unfortunately, they have way too much in common.
Or
What if Robert and Sonar had met each other when they were younger?

Summary
Sonar knew more than anyone else about how to close the deal or outsmart an opponent. He knew the power of a fitted suit and a good negotiation strategy. A little blackmail never hurt. Everyone in the world is scheming for money or power. Sonar knew how to leverage their desires to his own advantage.
In many ways, Robert Robertson went against everything Sonar ever knew. Robert was an honest, hardworking man with faded jeans and ratty shoes. Sure, he had secrets, but he didn’t carry himself like a man with something to hide. He stood tall and confident despite his low station in life.
Sonar just couldn’t figure out his angle. He did not seem to have any desires for money or power. There was no possible way that Robert was satisfied with his humble lifestyle and meager dispatcher paycheck. Yeah, he looked a little worse for the wear, but he didn’t have a criminal record like the rest of them. Sonar just wanted to figure him out. Why did Robert even take the job? He couldn’t possibly care about the team out of the goodness of his heart.
