Heizou sucked in a sharp breath of horror as he heard a snap, then felt a sudden wave of absolute loss. He stared at the lifeless thread, both ends pitifully floating to the ground, gradually losing their gradience to a dull gray, then to the scissors in his hand.

Or.. Red threads of fate/ hanahaki where Heizou’s destined one is happy with his other half and Heizou decides to cut his own string to not get in the way. (A grave mistake, he assured)

Hikari squints a little, looking as if she very much wants to break eye contact. “....I want to make Mahiru breakfast,” she says finally, in her usual monotone. “To help her like me better.”
It’s….. a very sweet thing for her to do. Surprisingly sweet, Nana thinks, finally locating the extra-large yellow hoodie Junna had bought her and slipping it on over her pajamas. “Oh? Was this Karen’s idea?” It sounds like something she’d think of, but Hikari shakes her head.
“No. She doesn't know I'm doing it.” She puffs out her cheeks a little in an endearing move. “I want Mahiru to like me.”
OR
Nana's a little uncomfortable around Hikari. Understandably so - Hikari's one of the only two people who'd ever been able to beat her, and while Nana's known Karen for decades at this point, she doesn't know Karen's childhood friend. But Hikari's determined to learn how to cook bacon and eggs, and Nana is apparently the only one who's qualified to teach her. Which - is probably true.
OR
Nana's discovery that Hikari has two (pending) girlfriends for a reason.
