Summary
“Alexa, Aesop is to be your husband.” Her uncle finally says, short.Alexa’s face remains blank as she stares at her uncle, unable to say anything. Nikolaos’s words echo in her head, louder each time, but she’s less and less convinced she’s heard right.
“Can you repeat that? I’m really tired, I didn’t get it right.” She massages her right temple, feeling a headache coming.
“You are going to marry Aesop, Alexa.” Her uncle repeats, more firmly this time.
Alexa’s head shoots up at those words, disbelief written all over her face. She doesn't feel tired anymore as she jumps to her feet, fueled by rage.
“The hell I will!” She shouts, all but growling.
When Alexa comes back from a bounty hunt, she's no idea of what kind of news await her at home. And she's not happy about it.
