We cannot afford to just wait and hope that the Prince Consort shall fall pregnant at some point.”
Nicholas resisted the urge to roll his eyes. “I’m afraid that’s the only thing we can do, minister. What would you propose we do instead?” he asked tersely.
The prime minister seemed to have hoped for this exact question. “There is an alternative that the ministers wanted to suggest.” he said. “Your highness could marry again.”
