Jean's dad has a job that requires him to move a lot, and after having to pick up and leave his old town, he starts going to Wall Rose Secondary. Marco, Wall Rose's alpha choir kid, hears him sing in the hallway before school on the first day, and this sparks the first real friendship Jean has ever had. A friendship that has certain potential for growth.

And really, the game wasn't in Jean's interest at all. He had been dragged by his friends to this stupid place where he was doomed to an eternity of obnoxious hormonal teenage girls and greasy fast food that smelled awful. He could swear nothing caught his eye, not even the flustered lanky boy with pitch black hair and flushed cheeks that accentuated the brownish freckles scattered over his face. Well, maybe that wasn't totally true.
Or the one in where Jean meets Marco at a football game and has a hard time trying to convice his friends (and himself) that he is straight, even though he knows he's balls deep. Pun intended.

Erwin, Levi and Hanji are the owners of the Shiganshina Parapsychology Troup (SPT)- they take on many paranormal related projects/investigations with their group but little do the clients know, they're just fakes.
Several of them do have talents...but putting on a show tends to result in more money than telling people they're actually just seeing things.
It's gotten them pretty far and they'd gotten a lot of respect (God knows why), but recently they'd been gaining interest from new people that wanted to join.
So Erwin decides to have an interview day.
Levi isn't quite sure what to think of all the new recruits but he's certain they aren't prepared to suddenly have such raw talent in their crew.
