Reki is more flushed than Langa’s ever seen him, his cheeks splotchy and red as he touches his own face, the spot Langa just kissed, eyes squinting up at the corners. Langa’s heart is thumping, because they’ve never done that before, they’ve cuddled and hugged and slapped hands more times than he can count but they’ve never kissed, not even on the cheek.
“Thank you,” Langa says, before he can think it over, and then he feels the warm flush of embarrassment rising up to his own face again, because what a silly thing to say, but, but his mother taught him to always be polite, so he swallows and tries again. “That...that helped.”
reki is afraid of rainstorms, even if he doesn't want to admit it. langa wants to help, so together they build a blanket fort and cuddle and maybe find the courage to confess their feelings, too.

But the touch is familiar. Too familiar. Hikaru, his Hikaru had done something like this before, the slight similarities caused a weird feeling to twist in Yoshiki’s stomach.
“I have ‘em all in my memory,” Hikaru murmurs, his voice even softer now. “But I wanna see ‘em for myself… I want to make a constellation.”
Yoshiki's body doesn’t know what to do. His instincts scream to run, to shove Hikaru away. To scream that this isn’t right, deny any and all touch from him. But he stays like there's something there that’s anchoring him. Like, this is the only place he’s still alive.
This touch, this proximity, it shouldn’t be allowed. Not anymore. Not ever.
He shouldn’t want this.
Shouldn’t crave this.
But he does. And that’s the part that hurts the most.
Or 'Hikaru' counts Yoshiki's moles and Yoshiki spirals.

Summary
Understanding human affection isn’t easy. They seem to struggle with it themselves, so it’s no wonder someone like him finds himself confused.
But 'Hikaru' has decided he wants to understand. He probably never will, and Yoshiki said that's okay - but he wants to try. At least enough to live among them, to grasp how these fascinating beings think, feel, act. And love.
And once given a chance, he’s determined to do just that.
