“I know, Shawn, I don’t want to pressure you to anything. I called Guster, he should be arriving in an hour. If you– If you have an answer, you know how to find me.”
Carlton approached him and left an incredibly soft kiss on Shawn’s forehead and said nothing about the tear that fell across Shawn’s cheek.

After Carlton saw Shawn be hit by Drimmer, he has to be close to him. But the truth that Shawn cannot admit, might create a distance too big for them to bridge.

For a moment, there was no sound. The train was imminent, but Carlton heard nothing. All that existed was the hazel gaze coming from Shawn. He saw the expected emotions there, some fear and sadness. But he saw something else there too, something that Carlton could not name.
Shawn smiled at him, while he put a hand on Carlton’s cheek and in these final moments, he looked in peace.

Anger sliced through Kurt like a hot knife. As his tail thrashed, he glanced between Logan and Laura, who was a few feet away from them. Her eyes, normally filled with rage, were wide.
Logan’s brows twitched, but he held his scowl. “I’m beyond help! Get the fuck outta here while you still can!”
Kurt gritted his teeth and stepped forward. “And what are you planning on doing if I don’t, hmm?”
“It’s not about what I do!” Logan scrubbed his hands through his messy hair. “It’s about what happens to everyone else!”

Young Geralt meets young Jaskier at Melitele's Temple.

On his very first day, a child with enormous blue eyes, a little younger than Geralt or simply shorter, starts following him around.
Geralt is unnerved. There are other Witchers in training in Kaer Morhen, so it’s not like he isn’t used to being around kids his age, but they never mingle with civilians. Civilians need them, but don’t like them very much, Vesemir says, and Geralt suspects that to be a euphemism, a new word he just learned. A kindness. He’d seen the looks on people’s faces, how quickly they step away from them in the way you do when you put your hands too close to a fire. Witchers are useful, but dangerous, even the ones as young as Geralt. You wouldn’t adopt a wolf cub, knowing what he will grow into.
Geralt’s efforts to avoid the child last an impressive ten minutes.
