Summary
Riz and Adaine are roommates in Bastion City in their junior year of undergrad. She's dated a few people, but he's still never been interested. He has found himself relieved every time she breaks up with a partner, though, which is confusing, annoying, and conflicting. What kind of friend does that? It's not like he's interested in her, after all. He doesn't do that.
It took so long for him to finally accept, and even embrace, that he's ace. She's not, so that's that. It would never work. Obviously. Not that there would ever be anything to work. Anyway, she wouldn't be—Adaine's a close friend, and that's enough.
He's fine.

An exploration of Riz being asexual and demiromantic, finding himself desperately in love, and being in complete denial about it. The rest of the Bad Kids are doing their own things, but everyone keeps in touch. The full cast of characters is featured, but the plot centers on nerd squad, from Riz's POV.

Summary
Riz understands what Kristen is trying to say. And it would be a lie to say that he hasn’t experienced any FOMO watching Gorgug and Fabian disappear behind a locked door or Fig, Kristen, and Adaine in a tangle of limbs in the kitchen cooking post-coitus breakfast. A lie, but ultimately this too mischaracterizes the situation. Riz, even now that he has discovered the wonders of “me-time,” still isn’t interested in being in the middle of it all. His skin still prickled at the thought of another’s teasing touch or sticky sweat covering his small body. But, as he runs the conversation back in his mind and tries to think of something, anything, to say, his thoughts weren’t entirely innocent. Far from it. In fact, when he thinks back to the catalyst of it all, that moment of seeing Gorgug, and the thoughts that have plagued him since, any pretense of innocence slips away.

Summary
In the wake of Junior Year, Riz’s bad health choices, caffeine addiction, and PTSD start catching up with him and Riz starts experiencing sleep paralysis. He is super normal about it. (He’s not normal about it.) Unfortunately, sleep paralysis demons are hard to distinguish from real demons and when a pro bono cold case goes hot, Riz finds himself in strange company.
AKA: Riz’s sleep paralysis demons all just look like Kalina. I’m sure that won’t go anywhere bad.
