Summary
When Taxian-jun replaces Mo-zongshi the change is apparent. He becomes more impulsive and childish, openly eager to please yet quicker to frustration or anger. He loves to taunt and tease Chu Wanning before showing him so much intense affection that Chu Wanning has to bury his face against Taxian-jun’s chest to hide from his devilish grin.
Chu Wanning’s switches are much more subtle. They’re quiet shifts in moods every few months. He’s still himself. He’s still just Chu Wanning. The only true difference is when the memories of his former life pushes to the forefront of his mind with old habits and fears creeping back into his heart while the memories of his current life fades into the back of his mind half forgotten.

Chu Wanning would never dare to dwell too much on this thought, but black does really favor his shizun’s figure, much more than the sect’s blue and silver. His robes are perfectly tailored to flatter him from his broad shoulders down to his slimmer waist and long legs. The collar of his shirt is always open indecently, no matter the occasion, and today, under the bright autumn sun, Mo Ran’s sun-kissed skin shines with a light sheen of sweat. A familiar and habitual sight, yet it feels like an eternity has passed since Chu Wanning last saw his shizun like this.
“A-Ning,” Mo Ran greets, the smile in his voice as deep as the dimples on his face.
Sent away to help with farming, Chu Wanning and Mo Ran find it harder to ignore their feelings and increasing indecent thoughts.
