Summary
A pale moon hung heavy above Gehrman as he gazed upon the new hunter, cradled tenderly by the Doll. The moon had chosen many hunters to bear its mark over the decades, but never one so young. She was a girl of only twelve winters, her bright blue hair a stark contrast against the muted hues of the Hunter’s Dream.
Gehrman let out a deep, weary sigh, his gaze shifting upward to the moon. Disgust flickered across his face as he muttered a curse under his breath. With a creak of wood and steel, he turned his chair back toward the workshop, leaving the moon and its latest cruelty behind.
