Summary
"Eddie—fuck."
Buck's fantasy manifests on his tongue, falling into the air between them.
Somehow his mind has taken a mental shortcut, mixing lust-drunk illusions with reality, and in less than a blink, the man underneath him disappeared without a trace. For a moment, Buck sees nothing but wide chocolate eyes and tan skin, the sweat and musk surrounding him take on a different scent and taste, familiar touches turning heady, alluring, and so different from what he's supposed to be experiencing right here, right now. For a moment, he forgets everything—Tommy, where they are, how they got here. He forgets the conversation that has led them here, every single discussion and argument, every kiss and touch that has led him to this moment.
And then he opens his eyes, takes in the sharp jaw, the dirty blond hair and the blue-green pools sucking his own in, and with a sudden, violent jolt, Buck comes crashing back down to Earth.
"Evan, what—what did you just say?"
Or, the one where Buck finally gets Tommy to let him take control, only for one slip of the tongue to unravel everything and leave Buck questioning what he truly wants.

Bobby clears his throat, flustered. “Nothing you say will convince me to let you engage in PDA in this firehouse.”
“But outside of the firehouse is okay?” Buck pitches. “Like, for instance, in the engine?”
“Absolutely not,” Bobby says sternly. Buck deflates. “Just… find it within yourselves to be professional for the rest of the shift. Please.”
“It’s okay, Cap,” Eddie says, with a smile equal parts charming and reassuring. “We’ll behave. Right, Buck?”
“Yeah,” Buck agrees— not because he wants to, but because he’s pretty sure he would do anything Eddie ever told him to. “What’s another 46 hours?”
Or: Buck, Eddie, and their first shift as a couple.
