Summary
Dean has been quietly pining after his neighbor Cas for years, but as a vampire, he can’t exactly make friends with mortals — let alone date them. He’s pretty much resigned himself to admiring Cas from a distance.
Everything changes the day Dean falls off a ladder during some routine home maintenance and breaks his leg. Cas is the one who finds him, and he insists on taking care of Dean after he gets home from the hospital — never mind the fact that by the time Dean’s home, his leg is all healed.
Cas, obviously, can never know.
Castiel has admired his neighbor Dean for years. Unfortunately, being a witch, it would be unwise for him to pursue a relationship with a mortal. Still, when Dean is injured in a fall, he can’t help wanting to take care of the object of his affections.
If only he could tell Dean the truth.

"Hate driving through this place," he muttered.
"Yeah, well. Quickest way home," Dean grumbled back. Sam turned to look at him.
"You gonna stick around this time?" he questioned.
"Can't promise that. If a case comes up-" "Dean, stop." Sam interrupted.
"I'm serious, Sam-" "No, Dean. Stop!" he yelled, pointing out the front window. Dean slammed on the brakes, Baby coming to a screeching halt. Both of them gaped and blanched as they recognized the beaming face ahead of them."Dad?"

Three years after meeting, Dean, Sam, and Cas are best friends living together in a small apartment with no worries other than graduate school for Cas, law school for Sam, and a permanent job for Dean. Nothing out of the ordinary. That is, until Cas and Sam decide to steal Dean's journal to read his deep, dark secrets while he's at the store. They didn't know he actually had anything to hide.
