It’s not that they don’t get along, at least not really. But there’s so much happening around —freshmans in college, loud neighbors, doubtful little sisters, hunting ex boyfriends, the quandary of knowing if every decision so far has been right or wrong, the door knob never working on the first few tries— that Yang and Blake can’t seem to connect in any other way more than deciding who takes out the trash.
Which was better than nothing, one can suppose. They are, after all, roommates. But it would be a lot better if they could hold a conversation for more than ten minutes.

Maybe all the monster fighting did a number of Mike, because he cannot for the life of him remember Will coming out to him.
Either his memory is messed up, or he woke up in the alternative reality in which it isn’t a taboo subject, because Will just casually mentioned liking guys and Mike is not taking it personally at all.

Summary
Mike has finally made it as an author. But writing about your own past can get complicated, especially when fans start to draw conclusions that point Mike in the direction of the person he's been writing about all along.
And living life is hard. Especially when you're doing it all on your own. But grief and love are a lot more similar than you might realise. They both tend to wake us up from the monotony of our lives.
OR: Mike has a horrible time, which somewhere along the way turns into a wonderful time.

His fluffy hair at the front, clumped pieces at the back where he’d slid his fingers in a mere few minutes before. His pretty green eyes that look hazel or even brown in this light, the dark circles he gets when he drinks framing them like intricate paintings. A satisfied, bloody smile.
Mike isn’t satisfied. He swallows thickly, choking down the words 'don’t you want more?'
Or: Will dresses as a vampire for a college halloween party, but Mike thinks his costume isn’t bloody enough. Will lets him fix it. Mike goes into a crisis.
