Summary
In a visual binary star system the brighter star is called the primary star, and the dimmer is considered the secondary. In some publications (especially older ones), a faint secondary is called the comes (companion). The orbit of the binary system can be calculated during an eclipse with the help of the stellar parallax.

"What's wrong?" Dan Heng can't help blurting out.
"I miss them," Caelus mumbles, his head against the cold window. Ever the naive innocent angel to speak his mind, he doesn't hide anything from his family that he had made for himself on the astral express.
"Don't you?" Dan Heng could lie, could have made Caelus feel better but he never wants to deceive his star, the burning in his soul refuses to let him, as if it were fire borne from Caelus himself, demanding utter devotion that Dan Heng is prone to give up readily.
Dan Heng shakes his head and leans against the window to still look at Caelus who stares at him from the corner of his eyes.

“Kang Taehyun?”
Taehyun stopped in his tracks at the voice behind him, his brows furrowing in confusion. He hardly knew anybody in this city, and certainly nobody who would address him by his full name like this.
Taehyun turned slowly, causing a few students to swerve before they ran into him. A guy was approaching him. He was tall with broad shoulders and blonde hair. Taehyun’s first thought was that this man was gorgeous. That thought was immediately followed by ‘how does this guy know me’ and finally, he realized that his friendly face looked oddly familiar.
The guy came to a halt in front of him, smiling as Taehyun looked up at him. “It really is you! Do you remember me?”
“Oh my god...” Taehyun trailed off as it finally sank in. The last time they had seen each other, Taehyun was crying his eyes out. “Huening Kai?” Kai brightened up at Taehyun’s recognition. “You’re tall now!”or: Taehyun moves to NYC to finish his degree at Columbia University only to run into his childhood best friend for the first time in seven years

While Kai has slept, Yeonjun has held one of his hands, tracing his fingers and the lines of his palm. When they were younger, Kai’s hands had been much softer. Free from blisters and other wounds, his nails perfectly round and smooth. Delicate to hold, and Yeonjun hadn’t been able to help himself from fawning over it the first time Kai had taken his hand.
Years have passed since then. The tip of Yeonjun’s finger rests against a little white scar on the back of Kai’s hand, an old bite mark from one of the creatures he’d summoned. They’re calloused, too.
Beside him, Kai begins to stir. It takes a minute, but he blinks a few times, his eyes focusing on Yeonjun.
Yeonjun smiles. “Back to the land of the living?”
Kai squints at him. “Is that supposed to be a joke?” he asks flatly.

He gets hooked onto certain people and seeks out knowledge of them, wishing to be part of their lives. But it’s always been considered a distraction, so Taehyun had only ever spent his time living in his imagination. He would create scenarios of dating his crushes, only to be devastated when his curiosity had ruined the glory of it.
He supposes that’s why they’re called crushes. They crush you.
