A muted murmur of joyful voices paused. Then the door unlatched, and opened a crack, and Harrowhark Nonagesimus peeked out. She was heavily veiled, but unpainted. Beneath the dark lace, her high cheekbones were flushed more pleasantly than Gideon had ever seen. But the rest of her face quickly washed with a startled shock.
Harrow said, bewildered, “But - you already came back...”
Panicked, Gideon pushed the door open.
There, strapped with her lost rapier, banded with her missing knuckle knives, and wearing her fucking sunglasses, stood an identical Gideon Nav.

Gideon probably wasn’t in Hell, which was, technically, lucky, but she sure as anything wasn’t where she was supposed to be, which was blended seamlessly with her necromancer in Lyctoral glory for the next myriad. She was here, and it was weird, and it was pissing her off.
