He wondered for a moment, Blade’s corpse gradually turning cold in his arms, what might have happened if Blade had never been cursed with mara.
He would have died as Yingxing, died to Jingliu’s sword as punishment for the crimes he committed with Dan Feng.
But what if he’d managed to survive somehow, managed to still meet Dan Heng? What if they’d managed to break past Dan Feng’s legacy, managed to cultivate a bond that didn’t hinge on sins of the past?
It was a preposterous, delusional notion. One that probably never would have even been possible.
Perhaps it was even similar to the catastrophic train of thought that led to Yingxing’s death in the first place.
But Dan Heng liked the idea of it all the same.
And he hated that he liked it.'
A.K.A. Blade is a little more sane than usual and Dan Heng is too gay for his own good.

I mean, the Stellaron Hunter is a wanted criminal who broke out of prison, for Lan’s sake!”
A small smile spreads across Luocha’s face. “Oh, you know how people are. They’re often fascinated by the forbidden, and criminals in particular are popular.”
The look Luocha gives Dan Heng is a bit too knowing. “And those on the run tend to be especially sought after. Wouldn’t you agree, Dan Heng?”

‘“Keep that name in mind. Keep it close and don’t let it go.” Dan Heng’s expression was cool, betraying none of the wild, almost animalistic thoughts flying through his mind.
Blade’s hand twitched towards the Shard Sword, his finger only a hair away from the handle. “...I’ll try,” he muttered hoarsely.
The corners of Dan Heng’s lips rose as he raised his chin slightly. He wasn’t aware of it himself, but his blue-green eyes caught the paltry light in such a way that they almost seemed to glow, even around his wide-blown oblong pupils.
“Good. It’s about time I got more than just one round out of you,” he said slowly, his tone lowering as his hand trailed sensually down the front of Blade’s coat.’
A.K.A Blade starts wearing his bracer after Amphoreus, visits the Astral Express in the middle of the night, and then proceeds to go missing. Kafka throws the responsibility of finding him on Dan Heng, who is still too gay for his own good.
