He feels grass formulating beneath him like a rising tide and a breeze running through his hair, all as a warm kiss of sunlight pours over his shoulders. Unsteadily, out of breath and panting as warm exhaustion pulses down his body in a distant, not quite tangible but still present way, he blinks his heavy eyes open.
There is the wide, glittering sky, a grassy hill, and a figure with hair of stardust atop it. All he knows is that they are waiting, and that he must reach them.
He takes a step forward to seek them out, but his body gives in, knees buckling so suddenly he gasps, and the fall comes without escape.
Pure Vanilla wakes up frantically clutching at unfamiliar sheets.

War is looming in on the ancient heros, along with a newly gained ally Shadow Milk Cookie. Pure Vanilla Cookie is desperate to save him and his kingdom from being in ruins, and they spend the rest of their time connecting before their inevitable doom.
There is nothing waiting for them here.
Was there truly any hope to begin with, in this bright red scenery of despair?
But at least in their final moments; Shadow Milk is able to stay by Pure Vanillas side until the end.
