Summary
After finding Spyder in heaven, Schpood makes a half-hearted attempt to patch things up between them. Spyder responds mostly by killing Schpood, over and over again, in increasingly creative ways. Pain doesn't exist in the afterlife. Schpood learns this firsthand, the exact moment Spyder buries the sharp end of an axe in his skull.

Summary
Cadewyn has died before. Cadewyn has died plenty. But this time Cadewyn dies and comes back different, comes back wrong. Astarion, as always, misses the important part. He’s running for cover when it happens, the sunlight searing him alive, and so he misses it: the most important part, the part where Cadewyn’s tadpole shrivels up and dies. The part where it takes everything with it when it does.

Summary
Post RE6. Another fix-it, about six years late. The body is under a white sheet when Chris walks in. The tag on his foot— the only part of him visible— has his name and rank: 1LT NIVANS, PIERS, and when Chris sees it he can’t move, or think, and he just stands there in the open doorway with the lights off, and waits for it to feel real.
It never does.

Summary
“Are you telling me you enjoy when I feed from you?”
“I…seem to have developed a taste for it, yes.”
Owen barks out a laugh. “Your survival instincts are terrible, doctor.”
“I have been trying to set this feeling aside,” Legs confesses. “It’s unhelpful, but persistent. I didn’t realize you’d be able to pick up on it.”
Owen can’t help himself. He stands directly over Legs, undoing the top two buttons of his shirt and pulling the collar aside. Usually he affords the doctor the courtesy of doing so himself, but this time he wants to test a theory. Sure enough, Legs’ pulse spikes. “If I fed from you right now, would you enjoy it?”
He says, voice just slightly strained, “I think you know the answer.”

Summary
In the aftermath of Oakhurst, Abolish returns to work, but finds himself joined by two very familiar faces. "Done with those lunatics," he definitely was not. Still, he's got a job to do, and he's going to stick at it, even with two divorced-situationship/whatever-the-hell vampires flanking him. Abolish can be professional about the whole thing. His two new coworkers, however...
AU in which Owen and Legs both survive VSMP and join Abolish in the shadow organisation. Neither are coping with working with the other in a remotely normal fashion.

Bookmarker's Notes
Legundo assures him these buildings were grand and beautiful once— says there are books with copies of old drawings and paintings made during the height of this place’s success.
Owen doubts seeing those images would change the way he views it. Once he sees the bones of a thing, he’s unable to see anything else, no matter how dressed up it may be.

Summary
“We want to reach the Covenant before my council is done with their duties. I still have to explain to them why we are taking in a convicted criminal.”
And because he was notorious for digging his own grave, Saparata asked, “Why are you?”
An uncomfortable silence spread between the two. Finally, Turntapp waved his hand in the air as if to shoo away his question. “Diamonds,” he replied. “Now follow.”

Bookmarker's Notes
“Has he sent you to kill me?”
Turntapp raised one eyebrow in surprise before he caught Saparata’s gaze on him and schooled his expression. “The Emperor of Westhelm is not in command of the Covenant. If he had tried to give me orders, I would have killed him.“
“Reassuring.”
“Indeed.”

Summary
Over the past few years, he’s started sleeping as little as he possibly can without dying — his under-eyes are permanently bruised and he spends daytimes hallucinating. It’s better than dwelling on what has come before: screams, limp bodies, spraying blood, blue eyes.

They’ve killed each other tens, maybe hundreds, of times, in the most creative and bloody of ways; yet Yusuf can no longer stand to see Nicolo in pain. He feels the wound as if it is his own—his anger leaves him so abruptly, he can barely stand, barely comprehend why he was angry in the first place. He drops his blade.
“Nicolo,” he says, crouching down beside him, tearing off part of his shirt to staunch the wound. “All will be well.”
