On January 1st, 1999, the Great War of Cybertron is entering its millionth year on record.
The Nemesis - the last remaining Decepticon warship - had crashed into Lake Superior three years prior, and the Ark- the last remaining Autobot ship - had crashed somewhere else at almost exactly the same time.
With their engines destroyed, communications to Cybetron down, and energon stores slowly running dry, Soundwave comes to a realization: if nothing changes, both factions will starve, and the last vestiges of the Cybertronian race will be gone forever.
When his warning to Megatron is ignored, Soundwave begins to lose faith - not in the cause, but in the mech that started it all.
