Summary
Four years after the events in Australia, Sam Porter Bridges is connecting one last continent before he bows out—hopefully, for good. While halfway through connecting what once was Canada, Sam stumbles on Higgs Monaghan, returned once again to the land of the living. Cut off from Drawbridge, Sam drags Higgs across Manitoba in order to put him away once and for all.

Summary
Higgs was dragging himself slowly after him, forearms slipping on the slick ground, his mech squealing with every failed push.
Sam came to a hesitant stop, watching as Higgs slowly caught up to him. And then, barely audible, “Please… please, please, please…” A quiet chant as he hauled himself up.
Sam couldn’t believe what he was hearing, or seeing. Higgs, the particle of god, kneeling on broken legs, begging, eyes wide and pleading.
“Please, Sam… I’ll deteriorate out here. Like lost cargo.”
Sam looked down at him, rain streaming off his hood. It almost fooled him. But not quite.// or another one of those DS2 Higgs redemption arcs

Summary
He’d thought, at first, that the pounding adrenaline and the feverish gratifying sensation of being straddled and hurt was bloodlust. The way his entire nervous system would tingle from a crack across the jaw, or an arm around his neck, folding him inwards. Trying to kill him.
Bloodlust wasn’t the extent of it.

Summary
“I need you to behave yourself.” It’s a good opportunity for Higgs to stir trouble, if he so desires. Sam has been slightly more lenient as of late, but he isn’t afraid to tug the leash tight again. “They don’t know about any of this.”
He’s vague on purpose. It’s hard to distinguish what exactly this is, but neither he nor Higgs have ever had much interest in defining it. It was probably better left that way. Sam flicks a night light on to see Higgs’s face properly, met with something startlingly aloof.
