Nico flopped dramatically onto the bed, ignoring the warning signs that their pancake mix-covered sleeve was way too close to your sheets.
“I bring news from the Kitchen Kingdom,” they said solemnly. “There’s been a syrup rebellion. It was… sticky.”
You stare. “Please don’t get syrup on the pillows.”
“They already did,” Sasha said, appearing in the doorway with three mugs expertly balanced in his hands. His hoodie was unzipped, his bun slightly askew, and his tone as dry as a desert.
“Because apparently —” he looked at Nico “— it's ‘hilarious’ to pour maple syrup directly onto the stovetop ‘for the aesthetic,’ lean into it, and then decide to go back to bed as if they didn't just wake up a mere hour ago.”
“Hey! Doing that took a lot of effort you know. So I'll stand by my art,” Nico said turning his nose up the air.
“You mean layed in it,” Sasha replied flatly. “We may never get that clump of hair unstuck from the metal.”
