To the doctors at Bethlem, Scott Holmes is the "Devil's Son," a patient whose scarily accurate predictions and "Moral Insanity" have driven his previous keepers to the brink. To Dr. John Watson, he's just a malnourished patient who needs to take his bromides.
Fresh from the horrors of the frontier, Watson is too tired to be impressed by Holmes's theatrics and too bitter to care about his genius. But as a string of mysterious deaths plagues the hospital galleries, Watson realizes that his "tedious" patient might be the only person capable of saving his career---if he doesn't lose his mind in the process.
