    “Sorry,” Izuku said, wiping the gravy off with the back of his hand. “Um… this is —” Did Okami even have a word for squid? Gods, he was so unpractised. “Summer festival food,” he explained instead. “Y-Yummy.” To his own horror, Izuku began rubbing a circle over his stomach.

    Katsuki’s lip quirked, and Izuku prayed very hard for Nana-sama to lightning strike him into ash.

    Izuku’s shoulders sagged. “My Okami—”

    “—Is still atrocious.” Katsuki smirked, clearly revelling in the shock on Izuku’s face.

    Izuku and Katsuki weren't meant to become close. They weren't even really meant to meet. The differences between their clans — and the significant language barrier between them — should have ensured that.

    But nobody has ever needed perfect grammar to fall in love anyway.

    I highly recommend reading Pt. 1 first. It provides an in-depth explanation and introduction to the characters and their respective relationships that formed out of their (shared) experiences. It's referenced in Pt. 2 a lot. Also, it's a nice read (fluff/humor/angst/hurt/comfort.

    PART 1 (prequel) is completed as of May 2024.

     

    PART 2 (this one, follows canon timeline) is ongoing with regular updates.

    She expected her mother and siblings to begin trying to rein her in, she even expected Dad to scream in her face — she expected many things, but the one thing she didn't foresee was for both of her trembling fists to burst into ultraviolet flames.

     

    Silence fell over the Todoroki manor as Hatsuki panted from the force of her yells, her anger seeping from her pores as she nearly stumbled over her own feet. Shouto was watching her in shock, and she knew if she turned around that so would be Mom and her other siblings. But Endeavor — his anger had disappeared as quickly as Hatsuki's, and his bright eyes watched her in poorly concealed glee. ". . . Purple flames?" He whispered, awed as his eyes locked onto her hands.

     

    (Or, in this universe, Shouto is born with a twin sister, and Todoroki Hatsuki will be a hero by her brother's side if it kills her.)

    Dear Hawks,

    My name is Iza Izuku. I am six years old and I chose you for my letter. Unohana-sensei said to write about us and why we choosed chose you so…um, I like katsudon, and coloring and heroes and quirks. I don’t like tomatoes, they’re yucky. I had a mommy and daddy but they’re gone and I live at an orphanage now. I miss them a lot but I’m okay.

    I chose you because you have wings and I have wings and I haven’t seen anyone else with wings like mine except you and I really like your wings. Red is my favorite color. I drawed drew a picture of me and my wings too, so you know what I look like. I put a feather in as well so you could have one. It hurt a bit to pull it but since I haven’t seen anyone with wings like mine except you I figured you might be lonely like me sometimes so I gave you a feather so you know you’re not alone. I hope you like it. You don’t have to keep it. I hope you’ll write back.
