This is gone off the rails right off the deep end. Did anyone actually arrest him, or did he break in for this little tableau? How dramatic do you have to be?
“Hey, c’mon.” Daniel says, snapping his fingers. “Let’s go, pal. I’m busting you out of here.”

Summary
Staevia reaches out to bridge the gap between them. Her hand hovers, fingertips extended, an inch or two from Astaria’s torso.
When she doesn’t move back, Staevia slips her hand against Astaria’s hip and tugs her just slightly closer. “I could never love you any less. You know that, don’t you?” Her throat tightens. The words are just as truthful as ever, even if a part of her wishes they weren’t.
“And you don’t have to leave just yet.”
In which Astaria has ascended, and Staevia isn't convinced that becoming her spawn is the best course of action.

There were muffled screams murmurs and pleas that woke Staeve up in the middle of the night.
He looked around and saw Astarion.
The vampire was lying further away from him than usual. He had his arms wrapped tightly around himself and was curled up as much as possible. Trembling all over.
Quiet whimpers and moans kept coming from his lips. Sounds of pain and torment. Another muffled cry. Pleading. Begging.....

Staeve returned to Astarion’s tent with what he had intended to save for a special occasion but figured what the hells, he would probably be dead soon, might as well enjoy it now. The half drow held the slender green bottle and the chalice in one large hand and raised his other to knock.
Before he could complete the action to announce himself, he heard a cultured voice from inside the tent call out. “For the love of… stop lurking and stomping around out there like an undead idiot and do come in! You are a bane to anyone trying to cobble together two minutes of peace.”
Staeve couldn’t help the stupid grin at the taciturn tone and lifted the canvas flap to duck into the tent’s space, allowing the fabric door to fall close behind him. Unfortunately, his grin was quelled briefly into a grim line by what he saw, and he immediately shifted his face into a look of gentle concern.

Frustrated he bit into his pillow and growled into it. He finally wanted to have him here. Just getting some rest wasn't an option he accepted.
He could hear quiet voices outside. Now finally his loved one would come to him.
Shortly afterwards the tent was opened quietly and slowly. Astarion entered and closed it again just as quietly. Only then did his eyes fall on the drow, who looked up at him slightly.
“Is something wrong, darling?” He asked quietly and turned fully to him. He watched Staeve with a slightly amused smile on his lips.

Astarion was in the upstairs study, going through correspondence.
There was the usual flurry of frantically phrased quest petitions, most of them entirely uninteresting. There was an invitation to speak at the Ravenguard memorial. There was a letter written on birch bark, detailing a study finding that wild Deep Rothe populations were returning to sustainable levels in the Underdark for the first time since seven thousand starving vampires arrived there. Wasn't that nice. He knew a couple of druids and rangers who would be happy about that.
Someone knocked at the study door. He looked up.

It was a logical question, but Karlach seemed to struggle with it. She opened and closed her mouth several times before answering.
"I- okay…" She pursed her lips. "Astarion, are you sure going over it now is a good idea? You look a million miles away."
In a dream, Astarion calls for help. His tadpole tries to get him some. The next day, a conversation must be had.
