Is he supposed to stand in front of the people who knew Michael best and beg for their attention, their forgiveness, because he couldn’t beg Michael anymore?

Another minute’s gone. Every second counts. It blares in his head sometimes; the blue sign turns too vibrant like a blinding black light. He scrubs his yellow teeth, gets dressed, smoothes his oily hair down, disgustedly washes the coating of oil off his hands, and is ready in record time.
Then, he paces his apartment, needing something. It’s 5:37 AM, and he already feels like he’s done today all wrong."
