A season 2 Bellarke rewrite where bonds are forged--friendship and romance--and Clarke doesn't leave after the Mountain. Begins with the Season 1 finale and follows the show until the Bellarke reunion in 2x05, and then I take dramatic liberties after that, which have rewarding and realistic-to-canon friendship and romantic payoff. Clarke had known that being chosen as a member of the first expedition to Earth in over two centuries was a one-way ticket. It was no secret that Chancellor Jaha, and the Council that backed him, expected the mission to fail despite having no other options. Not when the Ark was rapidly running out of resources after a near-catastrophic failure with the crops.
And Clarke, as a daughter of traitors, was deemed the most expendable of the medical staff aboard.
