Three hundred and seventeen years after Aegon’s Conquest, and only seventeen since Daenerys Targaryen set foot on Dragonstone and set the world aflame. The wolves still howl in the North, the roses still bloom in the Reach, and the queen rules from the Iron Throne, though peace comes only by fire.
The Lannisters are mostly gone, their debts paid in blood and ash. Only Lord Tyrion endures, bound to the realm he built and the queen who would see him undone.
In the Tower of the Hand stands Galladon Storm, the Bastard of Tarth, grandson to the Evenstar. A red-and-smoke sword hangs at his side, a lion’s shadow at his back. He was raised in secrecy and crowned by chance, but the gods are not finished with him yet.

When Brienne, heiress to Evenstar Hotels, sees Renly Baratheon take silver at the Winter Games: The Eyrie 294, she runs off to Westeros' premier skiing resort, Winterfell. Two years on, and combining training with the local team and working part-time at a ski rental place, Brienne is still living in a constant state of daydream about making it as a skier. Oh, as long as Renly BAEratheon can witness her taking the gold medal in the women's Downhill.
Jaime Lannister is one-half of the Lannister twins, the golden darlings of the slopes, and really, really angry when the airline loses his prized skis. Whilst his entourage look for it, he seeks some replacements...just to tie him over.
Of all the ski rental shops in all the ski resorts in all of Westeros, he walks into hers.

Summary
Brienne is a truly excellent rugby coach. Really, she's that great. Just that King's Landing, the team who have just employed her, haven't quite got around to telling their current coach that he is sacked. When that current coach is a) drunk and b) Jaime Lannister, only the best player of his generation and Brienne's teenage pin-up, things get awkward. Not quite as awkward when she keeps being stared at by Tormund, the massively bearded red-haired fireman who happens to play for King's Landing. Especially when he makes her Feel Things. But then so does Jaime, even if he is a dickhead.
Throw in an entire rugby team of fourteen good men plus Ramsay Bolton - all with issues of their own - a sponsor with a fetish for sailors, Tyrion owning a pub and being dodgy, and the Ever Lurking Terror of Varys, and it's all a bit, as Davos always says, effing mad, really.
