It's late at night. The euphoric crescendo of the slaughter has faded, and the near-incessant humming in her head has, if not ceased, softened to only an echo. Her body is not fatigued, exactly, but… satisfied, the way it only and always is on the come-down from her ritual killings. The world feels silent without the siren-call of her holy essence. It makes her behave… oddly. Uncannily. Or maybe just stops her from caring enough to correct herself.
She would usually be resting now, slipping into peace until that weak song of divinity returns to the edge of her awareness and she is able to again work as she is meant to. She should, by rights, leave now and do just that. This work can be left for a more suitable time. A safer one.
