Summary
Under a much different circumstance, Eddie would have loved to have Steve’s eyes looking over him like that, would love to have that determination focused on him, but Eddie is very much dying, he knows it, so he smiles at Steve’s misplaced confidence instead, “High expectations, Stevie. Where’d you learn to swing like that anyway?”
“I’ll tell you,” Steve’s voice is a bit shaky, his tone wavering, even as he puts on a brave face, “but you have to stay alive, Munson.”
If he had more strength, he’d consider testing his luck one last time, tease Steve by asking if he swings for Eddie’s team, but- he’s tired.
Dying young. What a fucking nightmare.
Or, what if the Party defeats Vecna in time, and Eddie lives?

Eddie lifts his gaze to Billy, slow and level. He doesn’t want Billy. Billy is grey and gross inside, and worse, he’s dull.
But Steve…
Oh, he’s a prism.
He’s a glittering, gorgeous thing, catches the light and splits it. Uniquely bright and far, far beyond compare.
Eddie is full of wanting for him.
He always has been.
‘Your boy’s pretty,’ he says casually. ‘But I look at a lot of people.’
‘Funny, ’cause I only ever see you looking at him.’
‘Yeah, and? This shit’s top shelf. What, you gonna let me wine and dine him for an eighth? Don’t fuck around yourself, Hargrove. If you can’t pay, just say that.’
Go for the pride, just a little nick.
‘You can fuck him,’ Billy says bluntly. ‘You can fuck him while I watch.’

Summary
“I wish I could have had sex just once before I bit the dust.”
The tension in the air is thick, palpable, living up to every cliche Steve’s heard before. He has half a mind to pull out his pocket knife to see if he can really cut through it. Steve doesn’t dare break the moment, though, letting Eddie breath a few times before continuing on.
“It’s hard enough dying a loser, but a virgin? Talk about lame.” Eddie laughs, and it’s not real, it’s something broken and fake in the way it climbs out of his throat. “What’s worse, I haven’t even kissed anyone. Jesus Christ, what a sad legacy to leave behind. Practically Shakespearian levels of tragic.”
Eddie has on that sad, self-deprecating smile that pulls at Steve’s heartstrings every time he sees it. It’s too much before the end of the world, it’s too much for Steve who knows this is his last chance to be brave in a way he hasn’t had to be before. So he says the only thing that could possibly come to mind.
“Kiss me."
or;
Their final fight against the Upside Down will happen in the morning, so Eddie admits a secret that needs to be said before the end of the world. What kind of monster would Steve be to not help him out?
