“You… You shameless son of…” Phainon’s blood surged with fury.
He felt Mydei’s smirk widen against his palm, the blonde’s voice dripping with smug triumph. “There is no word for ‘shame’ in the Kremnoan language.”
“Oh so you get to be shameless while I can’t?” Phainon shot back.
“Exactly. And now we’re even, Deliverer. Now you know what you put me through with that stupid toy.”
“Even?” “Even!?” Snarling in response, Phainon pushed Mydei with his free arm against the wall and pressed the phalic toy to his lips. “I’ll show you even, you brat. Now suck.”
Or; Mydei gets an offer he can't refuse- a chance for payback, to make Phainon feel the same Phantom-like touch he felt. He ends up having too much fun with it, consequences be damned.

“Yes,” Mydei confirmed, “That’s the plan. But if something calls me to stay, I will. In a heartbeat,” he met Phainon's gaze, seeming almost hopeful, “Castrum Kremnos can wait. After all, it’s not going anywhere.”
Phainon only half-registered the words.
At the end of the road, Phainon receives news that Mydei is leaving Okhema for good just as a gift from the Trailblazers shows him a glimpse of his future.
It's not as bleak as he thought it'd be.
