Summary
Needle–like pupils the size of her ring finger pierced themselves into her soul. Her limbs, now paralyzed with a primordial sense of terror, threatened to yield, to collapse onto the damp soil.
The beast bared its rows of ivory fangs at her, all while maintaining its stare. Rin’s head, now filled with a thousand different escape plans, no longer had the strength to execute any of them. The shape of the creature's head, its long body with cerulean scales and a pearlescent stomach, brought to mind the scrolls her mother would bring back after her meetings with Nikara envoys.
A dragon… A Nikara dragon was standing right in front of her.
