Ralph hadn’t seen any of the boys since the island, not until now. He’d managed to avoid a few close calls over the years, but it’s been ten years. He’d figured he had escaped that time of his life.

And there it is, that feeling in her stomach, the involuntarily barely-there smile which tugs at her lips, the heat warming across her cheeks. Billy pretends not to notice it, if he does spot it.

Josh lifts his head from the pillow with a concerned look on his face. "Hm? What do you mean, Ty?"
Tyler's sitting up on the moth-eaten mattress, knees pulled to his chest. He's picking at the threadbare blanket he and Mark had managed to salvage when their tour in the van began. His face is towards the window, the night flashing by. Josh thinks he can see dried tear tracks on his cheeks as they pass by a lonely streetlight.

Summary
Torch had comforted Clancy through too many panic attacks to be unaware of his distaste of physical touch. He hated it, Whether it was from the torture he faced from Nico, or just a general disliking of touch, there was no way Torch could be oblivious to the hatred for physical touch.
It was just a question of when it was okay to touch him and when it wasn't.
So Torch took careful mental notes of Clancy, watching his responses to touch.

We know the story of the Lore so far, but how did it all begin? This fic explores that question and the idea that Clancy and Torchbearer (who will initially have the name Josh) first met as kids in Dema. This fic will fill in those early years as well as flesh out the ideas of and fill the gaps in the lore. We'll see their friendship grow and develop, see their first attempt at escape, and how the cycles all began, bringing us all the way through modern day lore. This fic will also serve to bring the lore to its final conclusion/cycle: the one where they finally win and break the cycle. It's going to be a long ride, but let's take our time and enjoy it. And so, we begin...
