Summary
This is the first time I’ve seen him in months. Half by luck and the other half…I’ve avoided him like my life depended on it. Because it did. But I can’t avoid him now. I see him round the back of the jeep and one feeling immediately overflows every corner of my being. Dread. I know its showing on my face but I don’t have any space left to care. Nothing good will come from this day that was just supposed to be a fun surf day with my friends. Not when he’s here.
If you see me out somewhere and the world around you still goes quiet.
We hold our gaze for only a moment but that moment feels like forever. Not forever. Forever ago. Even with fifty feet of sand between us I can feel the heat of his body as if it’s inches from mine. I can feel his fingertips as if they’re not holding that beer but my hand.

Summary
JJ brings his hands from where they were buried in the sand, up to Kiara’s arms. He lets his fingers touch her skin ever so slightly. This is hasn’t happened yet in public. These are no longer platonic touches around friends due to forced proximity. These are touches due to choice, desire.
Two hearts just fallin’ in and out of love for something new.
or, moment between Kiara and JJ being a little more touchy in front of the Pogues for the first time, while internally reflecting on the past that got them here both in episode 3x09 and the time since, off screen. It takes place sometime recently since they've been back from El Dorado.
