idea: Why didn't more people join the Horcrux hunt? What if George Weasley went along with them?
Despite how it seems, especially if you ask Ron, George cares deeply for his younger brother. The thought of him and his friends going off on their own on a mission given by a dead man scares him. Any little bit he can do to protect them, he will do. Even, no, especially if that means he doesn't make it home.
Hermione's loyalty to Harry knows no bounds. There was never a doubt that she was coming with Harry on this mission. Her priority will always be his safety. If that means bringing along a stray Weasley without asking him first for extra help, so be it.
July 19, 2026: Major changes were made to Chapter 7. Minor changes to all other chapters. This story took a slight turn, and I decided I no longer liked Chapter 7. I am hoping to update more frequenly but I make no promises. This fic is not abandoned though <3

Summary
In the years since the war Hermione had taken to watching George, especially in the moments where he thought no one was, and it was clear to her that the smiling mask he put on was just that, a mask, a facade to fool everyone into thinking he was dealing with the loss of his twin just fine. She didn’t buy it.
Over the course of a year they end up sharing a bed five times, each time bringing them closer while also exposing the depth of his grief. Until finally they end up doing much more than just sharing the bed.
A 5 times +1 story exploring loss, grief and healing. Oh and smut.. eventually.
