Summary
Phoenix Wright had let himself go. This, Miles had heard: that his hair was no longer immaculately styled and he had given up trying to tease his polyester suits into something presentable for polite society. He had become, Miles had been told, one of those men who kept their thumbnails long in order to break the peel of an orange better.
No one had told Miles that all of those old excess efforts, the remnants of a childish desire to please, had been all that was holding Phoenix Wright back from his true calling as a deadbeat Adonis. Miles had always found the defense attorney “cute,” as one might say, but it seemed that the difference between “cute” and “romance novel cover” was a stained sweatshirt and an expression of deep cynicism.
“You’d better close your mouth before something hops in,” Wright said. His smile was unreadable beyond the veneer of jet lag.

“So, you have this dream, the one where I—Miles Edgeworth, international prosecutor currently stationed in Germany, whom you have never met face to face—am your psychoanalyst, often?”
"Yes," Kristoph said. He sunk into the velvet chaise lounge and tried to clear his mind. "Almost every night."

Summary
“It’s really not like a cigarette. I don’t want you to be startled and drop it,” Sirius said. “Maybe I should hold it for you.”
“Control freak.”
Sirius scowled. “It’s my dope, man. My rules.” He held the doobie out to Remus, its tip cupped in his hand, and Remus realized with dawning anxiety that to put his lips to the cigarette would be to kiss Sirius’s palm, for his eyelids to flutter and to feel his lashes against the pad of the other boy’s thumb, to inhale against the head rush of sweat and dirt.

Summary
There had been a time where he would have sent Sirius to eavesdrop with an askance glance and a nod and Sirius would have shaken a cigarette from his pack and stood close to the cracked open window and reported to Remus once they left, but loyalties have shifted.
Remus spread his cards out in front of him.
Well, perhaps shifted was the wrong word. Eroded. Been chewed through by over-vicious canines.

Summary
Another stray breeze- one that got separated from its friends and drifted up here, far above the tree line- flutters Ningguang’s hair into the corners of Beidou’s vision.
Beidou wants to hold her.
“Do you have a phonograph in this shiny new palace of yours?” Beidou blurts. Well, it certainly doesn’t sound like she blurts it. Her voice is never anything but steady and rough, no matter how much her own words come as a surprise to her.

Summary
Education isn’t for people like Harry, though he’s not sure why. He knows he can’t sit still and he sings in inappropriate places and that makes him less intelligent than others, and others are more intelligent and they don’t dance or do silly things, and that has something to do with it.
Puberty hits him like a freight train, hair and fur and stretch marks, and he always feels too big and he knows he is stupid and poor, but girls seem to like him all the same, and people tell him that’s a good thing and he believes them.
