It made Max wonder what the hell the ghost of a princely British boy was doing in Emilia-Romagna, Italy. On the Imola racing circuit, specifically. Did he live in this house, perhaps having moved here from England with his family? Was he some kind of racer who’d died in an accident? Max wondered if it was a little too early in their conversation to ask the question How did you die?
“You’re wondering how I died,” George suddenly said, breaking through Max’s thoughts.
“Oh, I, uh,” Max stammered. He scratched the back of his head nervously. “Maybe. I’m wondering a lot of things. I’ve never met a ghost before.”

“Confidence comes from excelling,” Wooyoung exclaims defensively.
“Or does excelling come from confidence?” San counters.
Wooyoung wriggles beneath him, trapped in the heat of the blankets. “You’re so mean to me! On this the morn’ of my fifth attempt at conjuring a familiar! What if my anger seeps into the spell and conjures something really disgusting like a millipede?”
San blows a raspberry on Wooyoung’s neck and climbs off him. “Then that’ll be your own fault, and you will have to live with your many-legged spirit-friend for all eternity.”
(Or: The ATEEZ coven gathers to witness as Wooyoung attempts once again to summon a familiar, prepared for an inevitable failure once more. Things go awry...))

While Yeosang is teetering on the edge, he isn’t quite gone yet. That’ll happen as soon as Wooyoung retrieves the collar that’s currently on the coffee table behind Yeosang’s back, kept out of sight to build the anticipation even more. And before he watches the coherency disappear from Yeosang’s eyes, he needs to perform one last check-in. He needs to confirm that Yeosang is okay with what they’re about to do. It may be overkill - he’s asked multiple times today, to say nothing of the rest of the week that’s led up to this moment - but he needs to be sure that the light is green, that Yeosang is just as in as he is.
That he’s just as in as San is.
They've been dating San for three months, brought together by a blind date organized by their friend Seonghwa after he started going to the gym San works at.
But while they've had plenty of sex, they've never invited San into this part of their lives. This routine, of all of Yeosang's worries and thoughts melting away at the click of a collar and the firm tug of a leash, the downright sacred connection of pet and owner, has been solely theirs.
