It took a few tries for his shaking thumb to activate the green button on the too bright screen, but sure enough he managed and the loud music abruptly stopped. Silence.

Yup that's Raph. Wait, he should say something. Right. What was the customary thing to say after answering the phone?

Nailed it. Well not really. His voice came out a bit too quiet, slurred, weak. Not like himself at all. He could at least recognize that between the obnoxious throbbing in his head. But he was sick, at least pretty sure he was sick; the softshell decided to give himself a break on this one. (spoiler alert: he was not sick)

Leo double-tapped the message icon and a video popped up, loading for just a moment before the screen showed a much younger, exhausted-looking, maybe not even 20, Donatello. Both turtles held their breath as his brother leaned forward and adjusted the camera image before making eye contact with the lens. Looking at them and he spoke. The sound of his voice made Leo’s heart pulse with warmth, cause he already forgot what it sounded like.
