Summary
What do you do with an evil little man? Instead of either {Get rid of Istvan dishonorably) or (Accept the duel) Henry chooses a secret third option (Take Istvan hostage) and then he just has to figure out what to do with him. Unfortunately, Sir Otto von Bergow most certainly isn't interested in trading his extremely valuable captive, Sir Hans Capon of Pirkstein, for the conniving, Hungarian mercenary who failed to stop his troops from getting massacred in an ambush... but maybe if Henry is very clever there's someone else who can be compelled to help him get everything he wants.

“So as I said, I’m going to the woods to race horses and get soused,” Henry repeats as he takes a few steps backwards down the hill towards the gate. “What are you doing?”
Hans smiles in spite of himself. “Henry, are you subtly hinting that you’d like me to come with you?”
Henry glances about helplessly, like he’s been caught with his hand in someone’s locker. Not that Henry ever gets caught.
“You can just ask, you know?”
“You’re right, it’s much better if you stay here and sulk.”

Summary
He and Henry were alone, half-naked in the bath and Henry had a leaf in his hair.
“Are you taking advantage of me?” Henry mumbled, as Hans leaned over him, white-knuckling the side of the tub to counteract the swaying, as he attempted to pluck at the leaf in a precise way that was quite impossible in his condition.
“If I was taking advantage of you, I’d be sending you back to the rathaus for more wine,” Hans said confidently, missing the leaf and barely stopping himself from falling on Henry.
“I’d do it too,” Henry slurred, his hands alighting on Hans’ hips in a way that is wildly inappropriate.

“Follow me up to my office,” he commands, and then, seeing their eyes narrow, adds in a softer tone, “We could be good for each other.”
“What will you tell me?” they ask stiffly. He looks down at the creak of leather as Darling’s glove tightens around the grip of their blade. Gortash shifts closer as if to shield Darling’s indiscretion from sight, but who’s sight? They glance over at Astarion and Wyll who are engrossed in whatever Ravengard is saying. Gortash moves his hand over Darling’s, brushing his fingertips across their knuckles. He smells like vanilla. Their voice cracks as they whisper, “I don’t know you.”
“Join me upstairs and we can use that dagger for whatever you like,” he proposes. Darling’s body responds with what feels like the expenditure of every chemical at its disposal. They stumble half a step back, suddenly keenly aware of an oven-like heat between his body and theirs. Gortash wonders pleasantly at their outsized reaction.

Summary
After the massacre at the gorge leading to the Nebakov fortress, certain events transpire differently: one, Godwin doesn't get to Henry and Hans on time. Žižka imprisons the young lord of Pirkstein and his faithful squire for a longer time, called away to quell new arising issues... And then, he discovers Toth's agenda, and throws him into the jail as well. Erik soon follows.
And as the fates are whores with a wicked sense of humour: they get separated. Henry lands locked in the cell with István—and Capon's stuck with Erik.
Dirty games play out, and cruelty flows free like blood.
