“Eddie–”
They start at the same time, cutting each other off.
“Ah, you go first,” Eddie nods towards Buck.
Buck lightly trails over Eddie’s palms, feeling the hairs stand up on each one. He smooths them up towards his biceps, stopping and trailing back down as he intertwines their hands.
Eddie twists his arm, angling the back of Buck’s hand towards him, shoving his nose forward as he smells the clean scent from his laundry detergent on his shirt.
“Buck”, Eddie says quietly.
“Do you know what my favorite thing about you is?”Buck raises his brow.
“Your fingers.”

Summary
This was not ideal. Whatever Theo had yesterday was hitting him hard- he was lightheaded, shaking with chills, and his stomach was still trying to fight its way out of him through his throat. And he didn’t have the luxury of lying on the couch all day; he had a completely healthy and extremely energetic four year old to take care of.
Buck tried to think. Theo had thrown up a few times, he’d had a low fever, but he’d mostly just been tired and worn out. Buck could handle this; he was probably through the worst of it already. He would just let Theo run around in the back yard, keep his meals easy, give him extra TV time, and crash as soon as the kid went to bed. This was just one of those things parents had to deal with from time to time. No problem. Great plan, go team.
OR: Buck powers through a stomach bug until he can’t. Then he calls Eddie.

Summary
Post 09x14, Eddie tries to give Buck the space he wants but quickly realises that's not what he actually needs, so he vows to do everything he can to help his best friend with his declining mental health.
OrAll the ways Eddie demonstrates his love for Buck without actually saying the L word (until he does), while Buck finally deals with everything he has been suppressing and crashes out.

If Eddie hadn’t seen Theo, how long would he have waited by the door, how long would it have taken him to realize he was actually missing, how long would he have taken to call Buck, to tell him that he lost his kid but can’t go out to look for him?
“What do you mean?”
Eddie runs a trembling hand through his hair. “I was making lunch, and I wasn’t paying attention and he got out. I tried to get him, but I couldn’t—”
“But you did,” Buck cuts him off.
Eddie laces his hands together and pulls at a finger until the knuckle cracks. “I— I hesitated.”

"Yeah, sure, g-go ahead, man." Buck cringes, and even that is adorable.
"Close your eyes."
"E-Eddie," Buck croaks helplessly.
"I'm not gonna bite, Buckley. Trust me?"
Buck closes his eyes. Squeezes them shut, really.
Eddie tugs his face into the curve of Buck's shoulder before he can lose the nerve, Buck's pulse fluttering wildly against the tip of Eddie's nose.
Buck is struggling after the events in New Mexico. Eddie decides to move in with him about it.
