    Gong Shangjue’s fingers trace the soft material of the blindfold covering her eyes. “Do you still think I’m gentle?” he asks, his voice low and intimate.

    Shangguan Qian’s breath hitches in her throat as she lies frozen on the bed. But then a sly grin spreads across her face, and she can’t help but laugh.

    Ah, so this is why you’re behaving like this, she thinks to herself, knowing exactly what he wants from her.
