Heathcliff and Hong Lu are roommates.
Heathcliff notices a few things strange about his new roommate. Like the fact that he was some rich kid, ("You lost your headphones? Dont worry about it, you can always change it—" "With what money—?") or how Hong Lu was atrocious at doing the chores which cemented that fact.
Not that Heathcliff was the best at it either, but he likes thinking he's at least decent at it compared to Hong Lu. Still, his roommate brings plenty to the table, such as being unexpectedly capable at studies.

And maybe him going to sleep all clothed, still having his gun at his holster, and not tucking Heathcliff and Sinclair to bed was the start of the curse.
...well the last part was a joke. Half a joke. You guess what half of it is a joke, why don't you?
