Summary
Shane wakes up the morning of his birthday with a nagging feeling of suspicion at the back of his mind.
He stretches, yawning and blinking against the soft morning sun that filters through the bedroom windows, the warmth of it making the bed even more comfortable and cozy. Shane doesn’t mind the sunlight. He smiles, thinking of how Ilya never lets him shut the blinds or pull the curtains closed when they’re at the cottage alone.
But when he flips over to his back and reaches out to find his husband’s side of the bed empty, that feeling of wariness comes back. He frowns.
