The woman had her back to you, and you could make out her strong shoulders and trim waist under her pantsuit. She was clad in all black just like you, except that her outfit was tailored meticulously around her tall figure whereas yours hung loosely around your gangly frame.
"I believe they gave you water out in the hall," her velvety voice filled the resonant cavity of her office, "so please lie down."
You immediately spotted the plush, upholstered leather couch on your right hand side, clearly designed to host larger bodies than your 17-year-old self. Before you lay down, you attempted to catch a peek of her face, but she never gave you the satisfaction by turning around.
"I heard a lot about you from your father. Can you tell me in your own words why you're here today?"
"I'm sick in the mind," you said blankly, "and he would like you to cure it."
"What kind of sickness?"
"Of the sapphic variety."

Summary
The woman of the mountains goes by many names- Mountain Protectorate, Songstress, Permafrost Matriarch, though her most notable name was The Frozen Mother. A powerful goddess and not a force to be reckoned with indeed and Y/N's village refers to her as such. No little taint would be put on her name and those who do would be noted as a fool. Y/N decided to play by the rules, not saying any slander to the name or questioning her existence verbally, but there was a doubting thoughts that plagued their mind. Majority of this little village has never seen this Frozen Mother in person with the only ones who claim or either the drunks or the elders, so of course they had their own suspicions as to if a giant snow goddess actually roams the mountains.
Eventually curiosity got the best of Y/N and during a night of drinking and hanging around with some friends, they ventured into the woods that led to the mountains a bit of ways from the village. They do certainly find the answers you're looking for, but not in the way that they would expect it.Bookmarked by catesaussieburger
