There’s a buzzing going through Minghao’s entire being. It knocks the gravity in him, and makes him lock his knees. The wall just barely protected him from falling. He grips his phone with one hand, and puts a palm against his flat belly.
He’s holding two lives in his hands, one is growing beneath his hand, while the other is merely a voice in his ears–both things he can’t get control of. His world is spinning as it changes, so fast, not giving Minghao time to brace for impact.

He was barely surviving in the new world with his little brother. Joel remembers so many sleepless nights with nightmares of his bloody hands holding the weight of his lifeless daughter. He’ll never forget the day he and Tommy were split up and Joel was kidnapped. Tommy always tried to think on the bright side and it always seemed to cost Joel.
These people with white lab coats and grins made Joel believe he was safe. They provided him with shelter, food, water, and good company. He didn’t know he was signing away his freedom to live in the prison that was hiding behind the now very familiar closed doors.

Summary
Lance and Keith are on two sides of the same coin, Lance was adopted into a wealthy family, while Keith was adopted by his older brother only because he had behavioral problems.
In their Sophomore year of College, they dated after some trial and error, then Lance was an idiot and broke up with Keith out of fear of being outed.
It's been two years since the two spoke, and the summer before senior year Lance saw Keith in the very store the two used to spend weekends at.
Lance realizes too late how good he had it. So he attempts to fix what he broke years ago. But Keith is only giving him one more chance.
But then a curveball is thrown at them and it screws with everything.

About three hours into the small party the team organized, Claude-Marie found herself nursing her fourth bottle of beer, engaging in a conversation with Coots when she saw him.
Danny Briere in all his glory.
One of the last times Claude-Marie saw him was at Danny’s retirement ceremony. Claude-Marie was forced to shake hands with the man who stopped loving her, she had to wear a large fake smile for other people’s benefit. That night Claude-Marie must have hit a world record for most replays for Alanis Morissette’s album “Jagged Little Pill”.
Claude-Marie will never forget how she found out, no matter how badly the whole situation hurt. What hurt the most was Danny never told her; Claude-Marie found out through a news article that some wanna-be writer wrote.
But deep down, Claude-Marie knows that Danny doesn’t owe her, let alone anyone, anything. But at the same time, she can’t help but feel that a small text would have been nice. Just something, anything at all because she and Danny was something that was more than friends up to some point.
